...Women today know they can take on bigger fitness challenges and reap the rewards of a truly tough workout."
On Monday, January 17th (oh look at that! January 17th would be my 2 year, 1 month anniversary with my boyfriend and future husband, he's on a mission right now)I will be starting P90X with a group of friends I rounded up. Ashley, Meagan, and Natasha (maybe?). We would have started it sooner, but I seem to have come down with the flu, and if we wait to start on Monday we can have our rest days on Sundays. I am going to try and incorporate the P90X Nutrition Plan in with my Jillian Michaels Hormone Balancing plan as well. My friends and I are going to do the "Lean" version of P90X, which has more cardio than weight lifting and burns more fat while toning lean muscle.
Tips for P90X
1. Don't use adjustable dumbbells! Always use resistance bands or standard dumbbells
2. It doesn’t matter what you weigh. Seriously, concentrate on how you look and feel.
3. Keep pressing play!
4. Take this program one day at a time. Making yourself aware of everything yet to come and how long you have left will only make it more tempting to throw in the towel. Don't think about what the next few days may bring. You could quit tomorrow. For today, just do the best you can.
5. NO SKIPPING WORKOUTS! OR MEALS!
6. It's recommended that you get real friendly with some ibuprofen liquid gels and Icy-Hot patches in these first few days. You're going to be sore.
7. Work through the soreness!
8. Drink a TON of water!
There are 3 phases to the P90X nutrition plan. Phase 1 -- Fat Shredder, Phase 2 -- Energy Booster, Phase 3 -- Endurance Maximizer. I will be mixing up these Phases with the Workout weeks and with my Jillian Michaels plan. I am going to try and limit any process foods; this includes any food that has been canned, frozen, dehydrated, or had chemicals added in to make it last longer. Frozen/prechopped fruits/veggies are good. I won't be eating anything with shortening or partially hydrogenated oil. I am also going to be eating mostly organic options. Nothing with High Fructose Corn Syrup in it will be eaten. No soda, nothing with MSG in it, etc.
I'll keep you posted on my progress after week 1 of P90X (:
Wish me luck.
