Some Mini-Goals (:

02/13 -- My goal is 173 lbs.
02/20 -- My goal is 170
02/27 -- My goal is to maintain 170
03/6 -- My goal is 168
03/13 -- Maintain 168
03/20 -- Final mini-goal of this 30 days -- 160-165

So, I've heard you don't loose a lot of weight because you gain muscle which weighs more than fat. So weight loss isn't extreme, but inches tend to be a little more revealing. So! Come this Sunday, my first weigh in, I will not only record my weight, but also my beginning measurements and what I've lost as far as "inch" wise, goes. (: hopefully we'll see some changes. I'm not expecting anything major. I'd be happy to see a loss .2 inches. Any change is better than none at all.

and since I know you guys are all dying to know... My 100% final "happy" weight loss goal is 150. If I can get to 140, that would be even better, but I'd be happy at 150 and toned. Anyway, my point is... I don't want to weigh less than 140. (:

Wish me luck. I'll see you Sunday.

Side Note #1: I need to eat better if I want the results I'm expecting. Stupid carb/sugar cravings.
Side Note #2: I can't put The Hunger Games series down to save my life. I'm on the second one and I've literally read 200 pages just today. I finished the first one in 2 days. Haha. These books are addicting! I half hope they make a movie out of them. (:

Cya!

P90X = No go for at least 30 days

My friend who had the P90X tapes doesn't have time to copy them for me so I won't have those for a while. So I went to Walmart and bought 2 different dvd's: Jillian Michaels "30 Day Shred" and "Last Chance Workout" (from the Biggest Looser)I've also just been doing Zumba and swimming for this week and making conscious food choices and I've lost 3lbs, and it's not even the end of the week yet! I've also been drinking Organic Low-Fat Milk from grass-fed cows and having small meals/snacks every few hours to keep my metabolism up. So, here's my schedule:

I'm going to do this A LOT like the Biggest Looser.

Monday, 02/7 -- Start 30 Day Shred Level 1, Monday-Friday.
Saturday, 02/12 -- Last Chance Workout
Sunday, 02/13 -- Weigh in/Rest. I'll post my starting weight and my lbs lost just like in the biggest looser. Which means I'll be posting on here once or twice a week.
Monday, 02/14 -- Continue 30 Day Shred Level 1 Until Wednesday the 16th. Start Level 2 on Thursday the 17th.
Saturday, 02/19 -- Last Chance Workout
Sunday, 02/20 -- Weigh in/Rest Day
Monday, 02/28 -- Continue 30 Day Shred Level 2 until Wednesday, March 2nd.
Saturday, 03/5 -- Last Chance Workout
Sunday, 03/6 -- Weigh in, rest day.
Monday, 03/7 -- Start Level 3 of 30 Day Shred
Saturday, 03/12 -- Last Chance Workout
Sunday, 03/13 -- Weigh in/Rest Day
Monday, 03/14 -- Continue Level 3... The last workout in this level is on Friday the 18th, and then the 30 days are up!
Saturday 03/19 -- FINAL Last Chance Workout!
Sunday 03/20 -- Final Weigh in... Rest Day.
Monday 3/21 -- HOPEFULLY start P90X (:

Wish me luck!

"Gone are the days of Jane Fonda and leotards...

...Women today know they can take on bigger fitness challenges and reap the rewards of a truly tough workout."

On Monday, January 17th (oh look at that! January 17th would be my 2 year, 1 month anniversary with my boyfriend and future husband, he's on a mission right now)I will be starting P90X with a group of friends I rounded up. Ashley, Meagan, and Natasha (maybe?). We would have started it sooner, but I seem to have come down with the flu, and if we wait to start on Monday we can have our rest days on Sundays. I am going to try and incorporate the P90X Nutrition Plan in with my Jillian Michaels Hormone Balancing plan as well. My friends and I are going to do the "Lean" version of P90X, which has more cardio than weight lifting and burns more fat while toning lean muscle.

Tips for P90X
1. Don't use adjustable dumbbells! Always use resistance bands or standard dumbbells
2. It doesn’t matter what you weigh. Seriously, concentrate on how you look and feel.
3. Keep pressing play!
4. Take this program one day at a time. Making yourself aware of everything yet to come and how long you have left will only make it more tempting to throw in the towel. Don't think about what the next few days may bring. You could quit tomorrow. For today, just do the best you can.
5. NO SKIPPING WORKOUTS! OR MEALS!
6. It's recommended that you get real friendly with some ibuprofen liquid gels and Icy-Hot patches in these first few days. You're going to be sore.
7. Work through the soreness!
8. Drink a TON of water!

There are 3 phases to the P90X nutrition plan. Phase 1 -- Fat Shredder, Phase 2 -- Energy Booster, Phase 3 -- Endurance Maximizer. I will be mixing up these Phases with the Workout weeks and with my Jillian Michaels plan. I am going to try and limit any process foods; this includes any food that has been canned, frozen, dehydrated, or had chemicals added in to make it last longer. Frozen/prechopped fruits/veggies are good. I won't be eating anything with shortening or partially hydrogenated oil. I am also going to be eating mostly organic options. Nothing with High Fructose Corn Syrup in it will be eaten. No soda, nothing with MSG in it, etc.

I'll keep you posted on my progress after week 1 of P90X (:

Wish me luck.

Master Your Metabolism -- Jillian Michaels

I got this book by Jillian Michaels called "Master Your Metabolism" in it she describes how she use to be (did you know she use to be fat?!) In it she says something that reminds me of... Well... Me. So I thought I'd share:

"By seventeen, ... There was nothing that I didn't read or know about. I had every trade magazine from 'Muscle & Fitness' to 'Shape.' I read every diet book, tried every fitness craze. I saw what worked and what didn't... I was obsessed with finding the right ways to burn fat, ... for me. For example, for a while, I followed the prevailing belief that the most effective way to burn fat was to work out on an empty stomach... and came to find out that it was exactly the wrong thing to do because your body with metabolize its own muscle tissue! Scratch that, move on to the next thing. I did the same thing with my diet. I experimented with Atkins, Blood Type, PH, Paleolithic, South Beach Diet, Vegetarianism, food combining--even the dreaded Master Cleanse (yes, that's the lemonade diet thing)--Why? Because I wanted to be skinny! For a full decade, I treated my body like I was a lab rat."

Sound familiar, anyone? Lol. Anyway. Did you know a lot of weight gain and work out Plateaus come from hormone imbalances? I'm so excited to have this book right now because it's going to show me how to get my hormones back in balance, which will ultimately help me get healthy (: I'll keep you all updated.
