Phase 1, Day 1.

South Beach Diet (: what I've eaten so far today.
Side note: Phase 1 does not allow you to eat carbs or dairy. ONLY meat and vegetables.

Breakfast -- 2 Egg Ham Omelet w/ Sauteed Mushroom and Red Bell Pepper. (No Cheese)
Snack -- Vinegar Almonds w/ Turkey deli slices wrapped around tomato slices.
Lunch -- Red Leaf Lettuce and Spinach salad with Turkey/Ham, Tomatos and olive oil for dressing. ( I cheated and had a small bite of mac n' cheese with chili and hamburger that my family made, but one bite isn't going to throw everything off )
Snack -- raw Cucumber slices with natural Guacamole dip (this was like my "chips and dip" it was actually pretty good!)
Dinner -- Lean Turkey Burger w/ tomato, lettuce, and mushroom.

Dessert -- like, 2 semi-sweet chocolate chips. Haha, stupid cravings. (:

So far so good (:

A little more about Phase 1:
The plan's author, Dr. Arthur Agatston, says the purpose of Phase 1 is to relieve you of cravings for sugar and starches. As an added benefit, you'll also achieve a significant amount of weight loss in a fairly short amount of time. It is possible to lose up to 14 pounds upon completing these initial two weeks of the diet. In particular, belly fat will most likely be noticeably reduced after Phase 1. Also, during this phase, it's been said that the body goes into Ketosis... A lot of people are confused by the term "ketosis." You may read that it is a "dangerous state" for the body, and it does sound abnormal to be "in ketosis." But ketosis merely means that our bodies are using fat for energy.
